We're almost halfway into our month in North America. I haven't posted since we were in Canada. Since then we spent a wonderful 6 days in Seattle and now we find ourselves in Halifax, Nova Scotia on the east coast of Canada with Andrey's sister Lisa and brother-in-law, Mike. Mom & Dad Sawchenko are currently volunteering in Hawaii so unfortunately they are not here during our stay. Thankfully though, they have graciously offered us the use of their home and vehicle which is very convenient.
I will report on the past week. Our days in Seattle were full (thus the non-posting). We were able to spend quality time with several cherished friends. Bonding with Matt & Colleen's son, Hiroshi Truth ("True" or "Hiro") was a highlight for me. Andrey traveled to Portland for a night and spoke at an IJM fundraiser. Matt went with him which was good quality time for them. Both Andrey and I spoke at Ohana Project on Sunday morning about our respective work/ministry involvements. The weather was amazing 90% of the time - warm (70s) and sunny. Perfect Seattle weather. We went for walks, drank delicious coffee, stayed with friends, Danny & Taj in Edmonds for a night and had a lot of time just hanging out with good friends (with some US presidential debate watching and disscusion) at Matt & Colleen's house most of the time. Overall a lovely time!
